Melani, Potistika, Ag. Konstantinos: Three Popular Beaches of South Pelion on the Aegean
- Melani beach, Xinovrisi area
The Ink is a large beach that stands out for its impressive rock formations, like statues in the sea, and for its black (deep blue) color of its crystal clear waters. Sand and pebbles, no trees for shade and waves when the north wind blows. Access to Melani beach is made by Argalasti and the Xinovrysi settlement (asphalt). Alternatively from the Potistika beach, following an easy path next to the large rock.
- Potistika Beach, Xinovrisi area
Quite a large beach, perhaps the most popular, with sand and pebbles, with umbrellas and sun loungers, which are available at the café - bar - restaurant in the area, and enough free space to sit with your umbrella, which is essential as there are no trees for shade.
Behind the imposing rocks on the right side (as you look out to sea) a small path leads to a smaller beach of the Irrigation and then to Melani beach.
To the Irrigation you will find several accommodations that also serve the beach Ink.
According to the sign posted by the municipality, camping is prohibited (there is a relevant law). Potistika beach has easy access from settlement Fig (new road) or from the Argalasti (7 km) and the Xinovrysi settlement (paved road).
- Agios Konstantinos Beach, Paltsi area
The Agios Konstantinos beach is located S of Melani, in settlement of Paltsi. Beautiful pebble beach, trees for shade, a tavern and a few accommodations scattered in the wider area.
Access to the beach St. Constantine is made by Paltsi, which is 10 km from Argalasti and the road reaches the sea (asphalt).
