FIRA-FIROSTEFANI-IMEROVIGLI

- Museum of Prehistoric Thera
inaugurated in 2000 and you will see the mobile findings from the excavations at Archaeological Site of Akrotiri such as the original frescoes but also finds from excavations in other places of the island. You will find it behind the Cathedral of Ypapanti, tel. : 22860 25405. The Archaeological Museum of Thira remains closed as the New Museum is under construction.
- Metropolis of Fira or Submissive, dedicated to Substantial of the Lord (1963-1968), on the main street called Ypapanti. The road below Ypapanti will lead you to its small church Agios Minas for amazing photos.

- Theotokopoulos Central Square, Fira, you will come for fast food, souvlaki, pizza, ice cream etc.
- Catholic Diocese of Saint John the Baptist, area Catholic District of Fira, near the cable car, tel. : 22860 22244.
- Gyzi Mansion, Catholic Quarter of Fira, tel. : 22860 23077. Every day except Sunday, 1or May-October 31, 10 a.m.- 4 pm. Impressive Venetian mansion of the Gizi family, with a Museum, where a Festival is also held in the area. - Three Bells of Fira, church-tourist attraction. The Catholic Church of the Assumption (is celebrating 15 August) with the most beautiful view.
- Skaros Rock- Kasteli Skaros-Panagia Theoskepasti, Imerovigli, what's left of Skaro (the old capital of the island), the Castelli (1205-1230, the oldest of the island) and the castle town is this lava rock. You will reach the top by a path (20’ from Imerovigli) and you can continue to the small church of Panagia Theoskepasti.
- Monastery of St. Nicholas, Imerovigli. It was built 1651 initially in his settlement Skaro until 1815 which was moved to its current location, between Firostefani and Imerovigli. Women's monastery dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the Zoodochos Source and the Agios Panteleimonas (tel. : 22860 22448). Imerovigli (day + vigla = watchtower) extends to the highest point of the caldera and joins Fira and Firostefani with an asphalted road and a stone-paved path (3 km)
THE A

- Castle of Oia or Castle of Agios Nikolaos (from the cave church of the same name 1450). Where once ruled by Goulas of the Castle (defensive tower) today everyone is huddled together to admire the island's famous sunset.
- Panagia Platsani Church or Square, at the entrance of the settlement. According to tradition, the icon of the Virgin Mary was found by a fisherman floating in the waves, and from the noise of the waves on the image (plz-plz) it was called Platsani. The church is dedicated to the Immaculate Hymn of the Virgin Mary.
- Ammoudi Oia Bay - Thirasia Island. From the small port of Oia, boats depart for Thirassia (or Predation) and port of Riva, as the island is very close from here (20’). Thirasia also has a second port, the Corfo, the old port of the island, which is connected to the capital of the island Manolas, with path. You can reach the ports of Korfos and Riva from central port of Athens in Fira. Access to Amoudi from a paved road or from steps starting from the Castle. In Ammoudi you will also find fish taverns and some accommodation.
- Armeni Oia Bay. Small harbor with a small beach, without organization, and tavern. Access by steps or from Ammoudi by boat.

VLYCHADA
- Tomato Industrial Museum "D. Legal", Vlychada beach. You will learn all about the famous PDO Santorini Tomato, and that produced by it, tomato paste and sauce. Cooking classes are held in the SAF building, reports, events. In the cafeteria you will drink coffee and cool tomato juice, while in the shop you will find fresh tomato products and smart gifts. KONTOCHORI
- Emmanuel Lignou Folklore Museum, Kontochori region (1 km from Fira). His traditional cave dwelling 1861 with a nice yard. You will see old utility items, i ate, pumice mining cave. PYRGOS or PYRGOS KALLISTIS
- Castelli (1580) – Church Virgin Mary (1660) It is the newest castle of the island with the church of Panagia, and from here will take nice pictures. The Pyrgos village, characterized as "monument» (1995), It is 7,5 km from Fira. Famous for Easter as the Good Friday, during the Epitaph Circuit, are placed in all parts of the village (Castle, Paths, paddocks, walls, rooftops, yards etc. ) tins with small vials that form an impressive chain.

- Prophet Ilias Monastery (1711), over the hill (3 km from Pyrgos) with stunning views. In addition to relics of Saints, they are kept in the Monastery, piece of Holy Wood and the miter of Patriarch Gregory V, tel. : 22860 31210.
CAPE
- Akrotiri Thera – Archaeological Site of Akrotiri
The prehistoric settlement that developed into a thriving city-port area 200 acre, with perfect organization, high-rise buildings, excellent drainage system and was destroyed by its volcanic eruption 1614 B.C. about (17th century. B.C.). The city was submerged under tons of lava but there were no residents as they had time to leave perhaps due to warning earthquakes. She remained buried for 206 years until 1967 when the systematic excavations started by the archaeologist Spiros Marinatos and afterwards, after his death, by the archaeologist Christos Dumas. You will see the finds from the excavations at the Museum of Prehistoric Thera, in Fira. - Castelli & Goulas of Akrotiri (1335)
- Lighthouse Akrotiri (1892), 5 Km from Akrotiri. The spot is ideal for admiring the sunset without too many people and is accessed by a paved road.
CORNER BISHOP or OUTSIDE CORNER – ROOM – MIDDLE CORNER
- Ancient Thera, Diocese of Gonia. The ancient city, which was founded on 8The century. from the Dorians, is located on the hill Mesa Mountain, Southeast. edge of the island. - Church of Panagia Episkopi or Episcopal Church of Thera or Diocese of Gonia (1100) Post-Byzantine temple, era of Alexios I Comnenus, with beautiful wood-carved iconostasis, dedicated to Assumption of Mary (15 August). On the eve of the celebration (14/8) a great religious festival takes place where offerings are made, free, Santorini Fava PDO, beans (because fasting) and Night wine. Her image is kept in the Temple Panagia Glykofilousa (11th c.) which is framed by figures of hierarchs. It is located at its foot Mount Prophet Elias, near the village Mesa Gonia.

- "Heart of Santorini",tourist sight. Through the opening of a heart-shaped rock you will admire the endless blue and the sunset. Access from path leading to chapel of Agios Nikolaos.

COMMERCE
- Venetian Castle (1450) and Panagia Messani (16th c.) The best preserved castle on the island, with towering walls and narrow alleys, in the shape of a maze, inside the castle.
