Hot springs of Kallithea, Rhodes
The Hot Springs of Kallithea are on Kalithea Bay, about 9 km from Rhodes Town.
The therapeutic properties have been known since antiquity, but were exploited by the Italian Governor of the Dodecanese, Mario Lago (1924 -1936). The 1927 began construction of facilities on designs of the Italian architect Pietro Lombardi (1894-1984) which ended in 1929 – 1930.
THE Pietro Lombardi created the following facilities :
- Rotunda, oriental architectural style dome height 14 m. In the middle is disposed in Statue of Eros. In the open space of the Rotunda, summer concerts organized, Theatrical Performance, painting and photography exhibitions. Also in the Rotonda area committed civil marriages, receptions and wedding or baptism photography, party etc..
- Fountain into a circular square, the spring water was used for drinking therapy.

- Entrance, with impressive stairs.
- Surroundings, with pebbled floor, flower beds and trellis with impressive arches.
Next to the Rotunda is a small beach, organized with clear water where you can swim and a small coffee. The beach of Kallithea is given for wedding parties and receptions.
ACCESS
Access to Hot Springs of Kallithea can be made from Rhodes town through the coastal Kallithea Avenue. Access to the island of Rhodes can be done by ferries from Piraeus (duration of 14 until 20 hours, depending on the company) but also by local ferries from the other islands of the Dodecanese.
The island has the International Airport "Diagoras" (14 km from Rhodes Town) which receives flights from the Athens International Airport "Eleftherios. Venizelos "and charters direct flights from several destinations in Europe.
There is also airline connection, flying small propeller driven aircraft to adjacent islands, as to Karpathos, Kos, Kalymnos, But Astypalaia and Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Santorini, HERACLION, Crete.
