Syrrako and Kallarites Tzoumerka Ioannina, two twin villages unchanged in time

KALARRITES

The village Kalarrytes or Kalarites It is a village of North Tzoumerka (2.429 m.), as Syrrako, built next to the river canyon Chrousia, tributary Kalarrytikos who also is a tributary of Arachthos.

Located in altitude 1.200 m. North Tzoumerka, in tO. of N. Ioannina, in Continent. It is of JohnNINA 56 km, from Arta 82 km from Kalambaka 96 km.

MONASTERY OF MARY KIPINAS Christ

Located in the village Pramanta Christs and built in 1212 in a vertical cliff, by Archbishop Gregory. The descent of the canyon Booted or Bozo is below Syrrako and access from there.

Track 1 : Syrrako-old path – Kalarrytes.

The route comprises about 4,5 km walking (about 1-1,5 time) and carried through the well-preserved old path that connects the two villages. Syrrako Chrousia go down to the river and passing the steel bridge of the river Chrousia, "Punta di XIAP" reach the opposite bank. You start to go up to the village Kalarrytes through a path full of rich vegetation.

Route 2^or : Kipina - Gorge Chrousa - Kalarrytes Syrrako.

The route comprises about 6,34 km walking (about 3 hours) and is through tarmac road, path - traditional path and dirt road, passing the steel bridge of the river Chrousia "Punta di XIAP».
