The MARY OF FOLEGANDROS, IN THE COUNTRY

SAINT PANTELEIMON, IN SETTLEMENT OF OVER MERIAS

This is a beautiful chapel, in Ano Meria known for its view of the deep blue and the sunset.

Access : It is 1 Km from the village of Ano Meria, the road leading to the north. Following the path you will come to Livadaki beach, to 100 m. turn left, the narrow cobbled dirt. ecomuseum or ECO OUTDOOR FOLK MUSEUM FOLEGANDROS, In Ano Meria

is a traditional "stack" of Folegandros which is a perfect place Civil marriage, reception, differences events etc.. It is said ecological Museum as it gathers all the elements of primitive, improvisation and perfect functionality.

The ecomuseum It has amazing outdoor space, with traditional threshing floor, where you can organize any event completely free. The only condition is to let you or your guests, a small tip that will go for maintenance Museum. This will all contribute to the preservation of our cultural heritage.

On the north side of the complex are preserved intact the threshing floor of stack, Yard the animal and the high circular dry stone , the "lemonospito», which protected from the winds of lemon.

FOLEGANDROS - USEFUL INFORMATION FOR THE ISLAND

Folegandros located in Cyclades, between Sikinos and Apple. In the Greek mythology, the island was inhabited by shepherds in western Greece were looking for pasture. Agali beach , at Deep cove or Agali

It is 4 km from Chora, and is accessed by car or local bus. The beach is protected from the north winds. From Agali starts a path to the beaches Galyfo and Holy Nikolaos, direction SW. From Agali is no path to the beach Fira, in tO. (15’-20’). It is a small beach, isolated where do nudism. Agali beach and in the background, the hill, You see the path to Galyfo and Agios Nikolaos. The trail is located on the hill and passes near the church of Agia Marina. From Agali also leave boats for the beaches of Agios Nikolaos and Livadaki (cost 12 €, with a refund).

Galyfos beach

Located after Agali and before Saint Nicholas. Small but popular beach, pebble and a few trees. Access from Agali, footpath. The path from Agali with Galyfo and Agios Nikolaos wants the right shoe. On the path to stand Galyfo 2 churches, with magnificent sea views.

Beach Agios Nikolaos

The beach Saint Nicholas, the namesake chapel, It is after Galyfo. It has trees for shade, sand and turquoise waters. Access is from Agali, by boat, performing daily departures (5’) or walk (about 25;). The church of Agios Nikolaos is located on a hill and from here you will have a nice view.

Galley beach

Located at the Meadow and easily reached by boat from the port or from a very difficult path from Livadi (about 30;). Wild beauty, without trees for shade. Here there are no cafe or restaurants so make sure in advance the necessary. If you choose the boat you can see the Cave Georgitsis (latitudinal 10 m.) in tO. Island's. Livadaki beach

It is very popular as it combines sand and pebbles, gorgeous turquoise water and sharp rocks. Turquoise water and sharp rocks that result from Livadaki to lighthouse. Access is by boat from Agali or path from Ano Meria (Walking 45).

On the beach Livadaki there is a path that leads to Faro Aspropounta, the homonymous cape (30’).

ACCESS TO FOLEGANDROS

From Piraeus, with ferry, the journey takes about, 11 hours depending on the route.

The ferries unite Folegandros to the islands : Kythnos, Serifos, Sifnos, Kimolos, Apple, Sikinos, Virus, Santorini, Paro and Naxos (information : www.zanteferries.gr).

The island of Folegandros It has no airport but only helipad. The nearest islands have airport and ferry-related Folegandros is milo and the Santorini, with routes from Athens.
