Archangelos Island of Leros, Ideal for fishing, food, swimming
Located B. Leros, opposite the bay of Partheni. The narrow sea pass Leros-Archangelos is considered a fishing spot in the North. floating fish farms have been developed in part of Leros, for sea bream and sea bass.
THE cove in Partheni flooded by boats, well protected from the north winds. The interior sinus Good Well provides security at all times while the Leros-Archangelos strait affected only in the opening outside the vagina.
THE Archangel classified in the areas of Leros that have been characterized as "wildlife refuges » (3936/25-7-2000), with ibex running free. It belongs to the Network NATURE 2000 along with the islands Φαραδονήσια, Λέρικο, Small and Large Γλαρονήσι. The island has 3 small sandy beaches and some coves to the south. easily accessible by boats.
in beach with the small pier you will also find the unique tavern of the island "Stigma Archangelos» (open daily 11 am-8 pm). It is a family tavern-cafe, in which they serve fresh fish that they fish themselves, ouzo appetizers, cooked, beer, coffee etc., tel. : 6933 409648.
Next to the big beach with the tavern there are 2 very small and quiet beaches, in which you can go on foot. At the top of the hill they survive ruins of an old monastery, with the view from above breathtaking (path access).
the Φαραδονήσια, are very close to the Archangel, in South. side, and in the largest you will find a small cove with a beach.
ARCHANGELOS OF LEROS - ACCESS
- With your own boat from Leros and the neighboring islands of Lipsi and Patmos.
- By boat of the tavern «Stigma» (only for customers and by appointment from the previous day).
If you want to go to Archangelos for lunch but do not have your own boat, you can call at «Stigma», tel. : 6933 409648 and they will come to pick you up in their boat.
Departure is from Partheni of Leros free of charge and with return, enough to weather permitting. This can only be done for lunch and not for dinner.
