BEACH KANTOUNI
One of the most famous beaches, with fine, golden sand, shallow, waves licking the sand and pine trees on the sea.
The picturesque Kantouni Kalymnos is one of the most beautiful parts of the island. Over Kantouni, impressive stone volume, with reddish shades that takes the time of sunset, through a pine valley, meets the deep blue of the Aegean.
The beach is located in the village Panormos and is the capital of the island, Pothia, 8,5 km.
Kantouni part that mainly young people prefer for it has several restaurants, brown, beach bar and nightlife. HIKING IN hideaway HOLY CROSS
Mountain surrounding Kantouni is nestled in a small chapel – hermitage of the Holy Cross was old hermitage of Elder Savvas, the submissive. CLIMBING AT ROCK OF KALYMNOS
Kalymnos, means a part with a higher concentration of sports fields – routes from anywhere else in the world. These routes are mainly D.. and N. the island and are calculated in 3.000. The climbing areas of Kalymnos can be divided into 4 areas, as shown on the map.
The largest concentration of chafing and routes is D.. Island's, above the villages Myrties, Bobbin, Panormos Armeos, so the most climbers prefer. In fact all of these areas can be accessed from Masouri walk (20 – 35 minutes walking). Many of the big rocks are nearby and their names are : Great Cave, Panorama, Afternoon, Odyssey, poets, Kalydna, Iannis and Jupiter.
The host rock, The «Grande Grotta», It is perhaps the most spectacular bay in Kalymnos. It is difficult route and split into three areas, each with different characteristics. Buses run from left, in "Afternoon", which owes its name to the fact that it stays in the shade until noon. The sector is characterized by the enormous corner and offers about 20 easy routes, in raw rock. To the right of the "Grande Grotta" is the area "Panorama", with slightly protruding routes, with 30 m. absolute strength.

The great rock 'Ghost Kitchen"Whose main feature is a huge domed roof – cave, full of stalactites and tomb. The stalagmites protruding from the rock, on each side of the roof slabs are, medium difficulty and gray plate located just below and to the right, excellent quality. Access is from the village Stairs, in «Ghost Kitchen» signal, following the dirt road (about 100 m.).
The N. and A. side of Kalymnos is the least developed area, of climbing terms. The climbing areas are the villages Vothynoi, Vlichadia and deep. The Kalymnos rock climbing, it is limestone, Of excellent quality, intact and in some places somewhat sharp.
