"Bambugera" custom at the Good Drama Faucet, the Dionysian event of Theophany

Bambugera : ancient custom with roots in the Dionysian cult as the god Dionysus was especially worshiped in An. Macedonia & Thrace. It is characteristic Sanctuary of Dionysus, in "Little Tumba" position, in the distance 2,5 km from the village of Kali Vrysi.

Bamboo : from "Dad» which means old woman, old man, ugly old man with a hunchback.

The Sanctuary of Dionysus or "Konak of Bacchus» for the locals, can be visited by appointment Antiquities Tax Office of Drama, tel. : 25210 31365 (business days and at least 48 hours before the visit).

GOOD DRAMA FOUNTAIN – ACCESS

Kali Vrisi belongs to Municipality of Prosotsani Drama, and is located in the NE. slopes of the Menoiki mountain, 23 Km ΒΔ. from the city of Drama.
Access : NR. Dramas-Kato Nevrokopiou, left to District. GS. Kallithea - Kali Vrysis, after Prosotsani (15 km from the city of Drama), will reach Good Faucet (8 Km from Prosotsani).

GOOD DRAMA FOUNTAIN – USEFUL INFORMATION

Feast Tsipourou Good Drama Faucet : the 1^The Saturday in November.

Big traditional feast, with plenty of tsipouro, wine, boiled goat and local delicacies (all free).

Custom of the "Mug" : on Tyrini Sunday in the village square.

The residents light a big fire, the "Cup», who maintain it by constantly throwing branches upon each other in such a manner, so that it goes very high without falling.

Followed by a dance around the "Cup», with music from traditional instruments, bagpipes and dachare.
