The "Center for the Study of Modern Ceramics Art (K.M.N.K.) – Founder. Home. C. Psaropoulos" founded in 1987 by Betty Psaropoulos (1930-2009) who had a great admiration for ceramic art.


It is housed in a renovated neoclassical building 1875, which was the residence of the Dimitrios Petropoulos family, with an inner courtyard decorated with ceramic objects.

Betty Psaropoulou started, in his decade 1950, with the collection of ceramic objects and then, enchanted by folk ceramic art and traditional potters, focused on the study and collection of information related to the history of modern ceramics in Greece (16th -20th c.).

The valuable archival material he collected during this research trip in the Greek area, but also her passion for ceramics, prompted her to create the "Center for the Study of Modern Pottery Art" in Athens.

This is a Museum Ceramics with a permanent collection of folk art ceramics such as jars, pottery, dishes, household objects, tools and collection of modern works, creations of contemporary artists.
