BEACH LIGHT

The Lantern beach located on the homonymous small settlement, very near Porto Lagos and Lake Vistonida. The Lantern is a picturesque fishing village in the Southwest. Komotini in Rodopi Prefecture, with about 700 permanent residents.

The beach is Blue Flag 2018 and located in the small peninsula that formed near the harbor. it's quiet, organised, Sandy with shallow waters, ideal for families. OR Xirolimni or else lake Fanar It is a small coastal lagoon which is separated from the sea with sandy shore. It does not retain much water so I called Xirolimni. Its total area is 3.674,35 ha. and belongs to the NATURA Network 2000 and Habitats CORINE.

FANARI FESTIVAL, 22 – 24 June 2018, beach Fanari.

By bus Rodopi, from Komotini, very often daily routes Komotini - Lantern (trip duration, about 30 minutes). The Rodopi Bus also runs daily routes : Komotini - Bulgaria (SVILEGKRANT, CHARMANLI, Haskovo, Plovdiv) and Komotini - Istanbul (information on 2531 028777).
By bus you can get to Komotini in many major cities such as Athens, Thessalonica, Larissa (to transfer).
