Porto Cayo Mani, Laconic Gulf

Porto Cayo : seaside settlement of East Mani Municipality, at Laconian Gulf, located 15 km from Geroport and 5 km from Deep.

Ancient Psamathou, today Porto Cayo : closed bay with a harbor that is a safe anchorage for many sailing boats. Has been, a few decades ago, the most famous place for quail hunting in Mani.

It has a beach, accommodation, few tavernas and Spilia Cafe Bar, the hill, nice view.

DEEP MANI

Deep Groove Cove

Deep Groove : N. from Porto Cayo towards the village Paliros (or Paliros), to Laconian Gulf.
Vathi Beach (nothing to do with the organized Vathy Gytheio beach) : isolated, secluded, inside a closed spectacular bay - fjord, That's why Deep Groovej. It has coarse gravel and is accessed from the Kourelos village and difficult path.

CAPE TAINARO – PORTO STERNES – beaches – ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE

Cape Tainaro or Acrotainaro or Cape Matapas : its southernmost tip Mainland Greece, between the Laconic by Messinian Gulf.

Porto Sternes – Tainaros beach

Porto Cisterns or Asomata Bay Laconian Gulf : closed windless bay-fjord, with a small pebbly beach that gathers many boats. Located at Kokkinogeia, where the road ends, in Tainaro, and has plenty of parking.
Porto Sternes : comes from, rather, by ancient settlement of Tainaria, which stretched around the bay, in which there were buildings with cisterns for rainwater or from the many depressions in the rocks that look like cisterns.

Archaeological Site of Tainaro : the Sanctuary and Necromancer of Poseidon Tainariou, in the place where their small temple is today Ag. Incorporeal, the homonymous bay. Nearby is also a cave known as His gate Hades.

Akr Lighthouse. Tainarou : the southernmost tip of mainland Greece and of Balkans. MARMARI BEACH, MANIS, MESSINIAN GULF

OR Marmari beach is located between the two beaches, the last one is the Little Marmari, just behind the settlement, where access is by a path.
