NISYROU MANDRAKI, SIGHTS – FOOD – SHOPPING

What to see, What to do, what to buy when you stay on the island, in the Mandraki area.

What to see :

Archaeological Museum, Exhibits with the history of the island, from prehistory to the post-Byzantine period, the findings from the islet of Giali etc.. THE 4^th century. B.C. was the century of the great prosperity of Nisyros (tel. : 22420 31588).

What to do :

Sit down for coffee or lunch at the Elderly Square, River and heroes. What to buy :

Choose local products such as thyme honey, «orgeat» (bitter almond drink), «owl» (fig extract or raki-like grape), capers growing on the rocks of the island, sweets (orange, tomato, orange etc.), «pastels» (figs with almonds and sesame seeds), finely chopped (reminiscent of Easter buns, ideal for coffee), Nisyros halva and local cheeses. Mandraki Baths Area, 1,5 km from Mandraki.
